Booking Policies

Thank you for choosing The Coastal Retreat at Myrtlewood. Please review the following policies before submitting your inquiry. These policies help ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all guests.

House Rules

  • Maximum Occupancy: 6 guests (including children). Additional guests beyond the stated limit are not permitted.
  • Quiet Hours: Please observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM out of respect for neighboring units.
  • No Smoking: Smoking of any kind (including e-cigarettes and vaporizers) is strictly prohibited inside the unit. A designated outdoor area is available on the balcony.
  • No Pets: Pets are not permitted in the unit or on the property grounds. Service animals are accommodated in accordance with the ADA.
  • No Parties or Events: The unit is intended for residential use only. Parties, gatherings exceeding the occupancy limit, and commercial events are prohibited.
  • Parking: One designated parking space is included with your stay. Additional vehicles should use guest overflow parking as posted on-site.
  • Trash and Recycling: Please bag all trash securely and use the designated dumpster areas located in the complex. Do not leave trash on the balcony or in hallways.
  • Kitchen: Please wash all dishes and leave the kitchen in the condition you found it. Do not use cookware or utensils in a manner that may cause damage.
  • Pool and Amenity Areas: Myrtlewood Villas pool and amenity rules apply. Hours and guidelines are posted at each facility.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellation terms are based on the date the cancellation notice is received relative to the scheduled check-in date:

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing (email) to the host. The date the email is received determines the applicable refund tier. Refunds are processed within 7–10 business days.

Check-in & Check-out Procedures

Check-in

  • Time: 4:00 PM or later
  • Method: Contact-free self check-in via lockbox or smart lock. A code and detailed instructions will be sent to you before your arrival.
  • Early Check-in: Available upon request and subject to availability. Please contact Jaimie at least 48 hours in advance.

Check-out

  • Time: 10:00 AM
  • Procedure: Please start the dishwasher if used, take out trash, ensure all windows and doors are locked, return keys/reset the lockbox, and set the thermostat to 72 °F.
  • Late Check-out: Available upon request. A fee may apply.

Sales & Accommodations Tax

Short-term rentals in South Carolina are subject to state and local accommodations taxes. The State of South Carolina imposes a 7% sales tax, and Horry County (Myrtle Beach area) imposes an additional 6% local accommodations tax on rentals of 90 consecutive days or fewer. These taxes will be calculated and included in your final quote. Tax rates are subject to change based on applicable law. The host does not control or set tax rates.

Short-term Rental Disclaimer

  • The Coastal Retreat at Myrtlewood is an independently hosted private vacation rental. It is not a hotel, motel, or bed-and-breakfast, and is not operated by or affiliated with the Myrtlewood Villas Homeowners Association, resort management, or any hotel chain.
  • The host operates in compliance with all applicable South Carolina state and local regulations governing short-term vacation rentals, including business licensing and tax remittance requirements.
  • Availability, pricing, and policies are determined solely by the host and are subject to change without notice. Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee availability or constitute a binding reservation until confirmed in writing by the host.
  • The host is not responsible for amenities, services, or conditions controlled by Myrtlewood Villas property management (including but not limited to pools, golf courses, elevators, and common areas).
